 The GSSI Archives

Cambria Community Center

302 South Richart Street

Cambria, Illinois

1:00 p.m.

GSSI Historian and Archivist Ed O'Day will discuss the origins of the GSSI Archives - 44 Years of Society papers and publications.  Also learn about the major collections of documents and research papers acquired or donated to GSSI since 1973.  Mr. O'Day will hand out a descriptive inventory of the collections and discuss what information is in the files.  We will also learn what still needs to be done to organize and preserve the papers.

This is a great opportunity to see how the GSSI Archives might help with your research and also to meet like-minded family genealogists. Following O'Day's presentation the Archives will remain open for research until 4:00 p.m.

Directions:  The old Cambria Grade School now serves as a Community Center and City Hall.  From South Maple Street in the center of Cambria turn west and follow it three blocks to the end.  The Community Center is straight ahead on the left.  Here is a link to a Google map that shows the way.
